The 2024-2025 Season is on a Roll!

I was listening to CheerMusicPro (as one does while going on a run), enthusiastic to hear this year’s cheer music lineup. Let me tell you… SSX, Top Gun Revelation, WCSS, and all of my other favorite teams did NOT disappoint.

The laser noises were as loud as they’ve ever been, and the nonsense rap lyrics were golden: In my opinion, this is the best year for cheerleading music yet. This is just one of many exciting changes I’ve noticed this all-star season, and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you all!

One other interesting change I’ve noticed this year is in the choreography for many level six teams. Last year, rewinds became one of the trendiest level six stunts, taking the cheerleading world by storm with their high point value and gravity-defying appearance.

Last year, I did notice some monotony among the choreography, however, since many teams performed the same stunt sequences (consisting of rewinds, full-up switch-ups, high-to-high full arounds, etc.). But this year, it seems like these teams are ready for a change.

Rather than just performing one stunt after the other, a lot of teams, especially Senior Elite, have made their stunt sequences more interesting—SE in particular has made their stunt choreography go along with their “pageant queen” theme. I also love the World Cup Shooting Stars routine this season, and they have very unique dance elements (props to their choreographer). WCSS is my favorite team of all time, and I can’t wait to see them make their mark this year!

Another change I’ve noticed is in the themes. In case you aren’t aware, many all-star teams have interesting “themes” for their routines (e.g. Hollywood, EMTs, Wednesday Addams, etc.) that determine the uniforms, music, and choreography. Many teams have toned down their themes, while others have started hopping on the trend.

One team that has toned down their theme is… Prodigy Midnight. Of course, one may argue that there is a strong theme, since there are many references to casting spells, fairy godmothers, and other throwbacks for the team. Even if you do believe that this is their theme, it is definitely less prevalent in their music and uniforms than it has been for the past few seasons. This isn’t a bad thing at all. In fact, I LOVE their routine this year—I just wanted to use this as an example of change.

One team that’s adopted a theme this season is Senior Elite (I was super excited to hear about this). They haven’t had any in the past, but this year, the music and choreography go along a pageant theme, proclaiming Senior Elite as the “queens” of this competition. This theme is incredible, and I love how they’re experimenting with their style a bit more. This also translates into their stunt sequence, which I mentioned earlier.

As you can tell, I love following competitive cheerleading! Make sure to check out my other blog posts for more opinions from me!
